Job summary

WPC Group invites applications for a School-Based Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology Apprentice in Berwick, VIC. You’ll gain hands-on training in maintenance, repair and servicing of light vehicles, working with experienced technicians and cutting-edge diagnostic tools.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in Victorian high school Years 10–12, pursuing VCE VM and a VET subject in Automotive/Engineering, with strong problem-solving and teamwork. Vehicle licensing and travel reliability are preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and attending a Victorian High School in Years 10-12.
• Currently completing VCE VM and completing a VET subject in Automotive/Engineering.
• Good problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
• Working towards your Driver's License and reliable transport.
• Committed to attending TAFE during School Holidays.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections.
• Work with cutting-edge diagnostic tools and technology to identify and resolve automotive problems.
• Collaborate with a team of experienced technicians.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised workspace.
