Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is seeking a Lifestyle Carer at Melva McDonald Lodge in Rooty Hill to design and deliver engaging lifestyle programs that promote social interaction, emotional wellbeing and a sense of purpose for residents.

You will facilitate group and individual activities tailored to interests and abilities, support independence with meaningful engagement, collaborate with care teams to integrate lifestyle into holistic plans, and build strong relationships with residents and families.

Qualifications

• NDIS Workers Screening Check certificate required.

As a valued Lifestyle Carer at Melva McDonald Lodge in Rooty Hill, you will design and deliver engaging lifestyle programs that promote social interaction, emotional wellbeing, and a sense of purpose to our residents. With kindness and understanding, you will:

• Facilitate group and individual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
• Support residents in maintaining independence and dignity through meaningful engagement.
• Collaborate with care teams to integrate lifestyle support into holistic care plans.
• Encourage participation and build strong relationships with residents and families.

What you’ll bring

You are a warm, empathetic and creative individual who is passionate about enhancing the lives of older people. You share our values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence.

What’s required

• NDIS Workers Screening Check Certificate IV in Leisure and Health, or Bachelors of Diploma in Health Science or Community Services.
• Current First Aid Certificate.

What’s preferred

• Experience in Aged Care and thorough knowledge of accreditation guidelines.
• Lifestyle and activity facilitation skills.
• Teamwork and collaboration with nurses, allied health professionals, and other carers.
