Job summary

Infinite Care Tweed Heads is seeking a Personal Carer & Engagement Worker to support our elderly residents and families with lifestyle and care activities across AM, PM and Night shifts.

You will work closely with nursing and resident engagement teams, applying person-centred care and maintaining safety while building rapport with residents and colleagues in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Current First Aid and CPR certification is essential.
• Understanding of person-centred care in lifestyle programs.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance is essential (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with residents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with lifestyle activities and care duties across AM, PM and Night shifts.
• Collaborate with nursing and resident engagement teams to deliver timely care.
• Maintain safety to prevent falls and injuries; follow established procedures.
• Encourage resident participation in group activities and routines.

The Opportunity

At Infinite Care, we pride ourselves on providing industry leading resident care and services which encourages and enables residents to remain independent with all employees working in our companywide safety-first workplace. Our Personal Carer & Engagement Worker (PCEWs) or Lifestyle Assistants are highly interactive supporting our elderly residents, their families and colleagues 7 days a week across AM, PM and Nightshifts.

This role based at our Tweed Heads care home and will see you working closely with the nursing and resident engagement teams when performing your resident-centric care duties in a timely and compassionate manner surrounded by highly skilled and supportive senior carers and managers. The attached position description outlines duties and accountabilities for this role - Lifestyle is what is this role is commonly called in the Aged Care sector.

About You

Ideally, you have worked in the Aged Care sector for at least 1 year and the ability to “think on your feet”, communicate effectively, build rapport, and maintain professional relationships with residents and co-workers alike. In addition, you will also

• Current First Aid and CPR certification is essential.
• Understanding of person-centred care principles and their application in lifestyle programs with basic knowledge of the emotional, social, and physical needs of older adults.
• Qualifications across Certificate III Individual Support or Leisure and Lifestyle is applicable for this role is desirable.
• Hold (*or willingness to obtain) the NDIS Workers Screening Clearance as this is essential to work in the Aged Care sector
• Excellent safety awareness to avoid our residents tripping, falling or hurting themselves - you need to be their extra eyes and ears!
• Very positive teamwork attitude, a trusted co-worker, excellent time management (we are a shift driven workplace including handovers) and always follow strict safety procedures to maintain a high standard of workplace safety.
