Job summary

Belgravia Leisure is seeking an experienced lifeguard to join our team on a casual basis in the Mackay region. The role involves Day to Day Pool Operations, ensuring safety around and in the pool area, and delivering excellent customer service to all patrons.

Candidates should hold a current Pool Lifeguard Certificate, First Aid (Level 2) and CPR, plus a National Police Check. Morning, evening, and weekend shifts are required, with potential cross-site rosters to Pioneer Swim Centre & Mackay

Qualifications

• Current First Aid (Level 2) & CPR certification required.
• National Police Check required.
• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate required.
• Willingness to work mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Ability to ensure safety around water and provide customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Day to Day Pool Operations for the facility.
• Maintain a safe and enjoyable environment around pools and nearby areas.
• Work across Belgravia Leisure sites in Mackay region as rostered.
• Provide excellent customer service and clear communication to patrons.

The Role

We are currently looking for anexperienced, enthusiastic, reliable and friendlylifeguardto join the team on a casual basis. Our lifeguards will be responsible for the Day to Day Pool Operations within our facility and ensure that all areas both in and surrounding our pools is a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons.

You will have a passion for safetyaround the water. You should be energetic, dynamic, outgoing and fun. You will need outstanding communication skills and a commitment to customer service excellence to ensureour patrons safely enjoy their visit every time.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with students that have a diverse range of ages, abilities, cultures and needs.We are looking for school hours coverage as well as weekends.

Please note, you may also be required to work across other Belgravia Leisure sites in the Mackay region such as Pioneer Swim Centre & Mackay Aquatic Leisure Centre.

Skills & Attributes:

• An understanding of OHS and public safety applications within your facility
• Ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a strong and valuable part of the team
• Current First Aid (Level 2) & Current CPR Certificate
• National Police Check
• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
• Previous experience and success in a comparable role is not essential but highly regarded
• Current Pool Operations Certificateis not essential but highly regarded

The Site

Belgravia Leisure has been appointed as the management contract partner for the Mackay Regional Council's Bluewater Lagoon.

The facilities include three interconnected lagoon pools - all with lifeguards on duty, a waterslide, shaded areas, and dedicated family spaces. The venue provides a safe and enjoyable environment for visitors of all ages. With stunning views and convenient amenities, Bluewater Lagoon is an ideal place to relax, cool off, and enjoy the region’s tropical lifestyle. Entry for the visitors is complimentary.

As Belgravia Leisure are also the contract partners for Mackay Regional Aquatic Centre (MARC) and Pioneer Swimming Pool - you may be required to work across all three pools are part of your roster.
