The Nudgee Beach Hotel, part of the ALH Hotels network, seeks a high-energy Assistant Manager to lead a busy floor and mentor a strong team across bar, bistro, and gaming areas.

You will manage daily operations, ensure exceptional guest experiences, and uphold standards while collaborating with the Publican and a multi-disciplined crew. RSA-related licencing is required, and shifts include day and night coverage.

Qualificações

• Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
• Full Australian Driver’s License.
• Ability to endure remote environments and weather conditions.
• Ability to multi-task and assist in other areas with a positive teamwork approach.
• Ability to work 11-hour shifts and, day or night shifts as required.

Responsabilidades

• Clean premises and equipment across Back of House tasks.
• Maintain clean and tidy dining/kitchen areas in Front of House.
• Assist in stock receiving and replenishment.
• Handle waste and maintain hygiene standards.
• Support in multiple departments as required.

ESS manages all aspects of large-scale accommodation facilities or “villages” for remote workers providing essential comforts such as a hot meal, a clean bed, freshly laundered workwear to health and wellness facilities for those working away from home.

The Position

Back of House

• Clean premises and equipment
• Apply odour control.
• Clean external surfaces (includes handwashing, spraying, rinsing, scraping, spot cleaning, or squeegeeing)
• Clean window coverings and walls
• Dust hard surfaces
• Perform basic stain removal, and polish fixtures and fittings.
• Remove waste.
• Wipe, scrub, and/or disinfect hard surfaces (e.g., sinks, countertops, toilets, etc)

Front of House

• Catering Attendant bar and retail:
• Maintain clean and tidy dining/kitchen areas.
• Clean and maintain public areas.
• Clean, sanitize, and store equipment base + super.
• Clean tables and surrounds
• Handle waste and linen
• Receive and rotate stock
• Replenish supplies in dining areas.

The Person

We need a versatile leader who can command the floor, mentor a great crew, and keep the standards sky‑high across all departments.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands‑on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
