Job summary

Simmark is seeking a licensed plumber to join a multi-trade team. The role combines traditional plumbing with involvement in electrical, solar, battery and air conditioning projects across Kiama, Bowral and Nowra.

You’ll work on hot water systems, heat pump integrations, hydronic heating consideration, and maintenance, with opportunities to upskill and undertake additional apprenticeships in electrical or HVAC fields.

Qualifications

• Licensed plumber with NSW licensing to carry out plumbing work
• Experience across electrical, solar, battery and air conditioning projects a plus
• Interest in renewable energy and modern building services
• Willing to learn and develop additional trades

Responsibilities

• Install and replace hot water systems
• Perform plumbing work associated with electric and heat pump hot water systems
• Carry out minor plumbing maintenance and repairs
• Support plumbing work tied to air conditioning and other projects
• Facilitate fault finding and general plumbing tasks
• Work across Kiama, Bowral and Nowra service areas

About Simmark

Simmark is an established electrical and energy services business operating across Kiama, Bowral and Nowra, providing electrical, air conditioning, solar, battery and maintenance services to residential and commercial customers.

As we continue to expand the services we provide, we are looking for a licensed plumber who wants to join our team and take on something a little different from a traditional plumbing role.

The position will combine plumbing work with involvement in our electrical, solar, battery and air conditioning projects, with opportunities for the right person to broaden their qualifications and develop into additional trades.

About the Role

You’ll work across our three branches carrying out plumbing work while also assisting our existing trade teams on a diverse range of projects.

Your plumbing responsibilities will primarily include:

• Installation and replacement of hot water systems

• Plumbing associated with electric and heat pump hot water systems

• Minor plumbing maintenance and repairs

• Plumbing work associated with air conditioning and other projects

• Fault finding and general plumbing works as required

• Working across our Kiama, Bowral and Nowra service areas

Outside of dedicated plumbing work, you’ll work alongside our technicians and tradespeople on:

• Solar installations

• Battery installations

• Electrical projects

• Air conditioning installations

• Energy upgrade projects

• Other multi-trade installation and maintenance work

We’re not looking for someone who necessarily wants to spend every day doing traditional plumbing.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working across different types of projects, learning new skills and being part of a multi-trade team.

Opportunity to Upskill

For the right person, we’re open to supporting significant further development.

There is potential to undertake further training or an additional apprenticeship in electrical or air conditioning/refrigeration, allowing you to broaden your qualifications while continuing to work within the business.

This could be a particularly attractive opportunity for an experienced plumber who enjoys their trade but is looking for their next challenge and wants to become multi-skilled.

Hydronic Heating

We are also interested in further expanding our capabilities into the hydronic heating space.

Previous experience with hydronic heating systems would therefore be highly regarded, although it is not essential.

For someone with the right experience and interest, there may be an opportunity to play an important role in developing this area of the business.

About You

To be considered, you will need to be a licensed plumber with the appropriate qualifications and licensing to carry out plumbing work in NSW.

We’re particularly interested in someone who:

• Takes pride in their workmanship

• Can work independently when carrying out plumbing work

• Is comfortable working as part of a broader trade team

• Has good fault-finding and practical problem-solving skills

• Communicates well with customers and other tradespeople

• Is interested in renewable energy and modern building services

• Is willing to assist outside their core trade

• Wants to continue learning and developing professionally

• Holds a current driver's licence

Experience with hot water, heat pump systems, hydronics, air conditioning or renewable energy projects would be particularly valuable.
