Job summary

Shore Lawyers in North Sydney is seeking an experienced Conveyancer to manage your own file load across residential and commercial matters, from initial instructions to settlement.

You will draft and review contracts, handle pre-purchase enquiries, PEXA settlements, and liaise with clients, agents and lenders, supported by a team in a boutique firm known for stability and referrals.

Qualifications

• Current NSW Conveyancer's Licence (unrestricted) required.
• At least 5 years running your own files post-licensing.
• Proven track record of on-time settlements, including complex matters.
• Strong knowledge of PEXA, Revenue NSW and NSW LRS processes.
• Solid understanding of the Conveyancing Act 1919 and Real Property Act 1900.
• Excellent client communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with off-the-plan, strata, community title or commercial leasing.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own conveyancing file load from instructions to settlement.

• Negotiate amendments directly with the other side.
• Handle PEXA settlements end-to-end.

• Own settlement diary, including cooling off, finance and registrations.
• Prepare settlement statements and adjustments.
• Coordinate with estates, family and litigation teams when needed.

The role

• Your own file load. Residential and commercial, vendor and purchaser side, first instructions to settlement
• Drafting and reviewing contracts, and holding the line on special conditions when the other side tries it on
• Full pre-purchase enquiries, section 10.7s, strata records — the searches that save a client from a very bad Tuesday
• Negotiating amendments directly with the other side
• PEXA settlements end to end, including the ones that wobble at 11am on the day
• Revenue NSW duty, first home buyer concessions, surcharge purchaser duty, land tax clearances
• Talking to clients, agents, brokers and banks like a human being
• Owning your settlement diary — cooling off, finance, building and pest, settlement — because you're the one who knows the file
• Settlement statements, adjustments, trust instructions
• VOI, client authorisations, conflict checks: the unglamorous part that keeps everyone out of trouble
• Your own time recording, estimates and billing
• Working alongside our estates, family and litigation teams when a property matter sits inside something bigger

You

• A current NSW Conveyancer's Licence, unrestricted
• At least 5 years running your own files post-licensing
• A track record of settling on time, including the messy ones
• PEXA fluency, plus Revenue NSW and NSW LRS processes in your bones
• Real command of the Conveyancing Act 1919 and the Real Property Act 1900
• The confidence to pick up the phone rather than send a fourth email
• Attention to detail that borders on the unreasonable
• Smokeball and InfoTrack
• Off-the-plan, strata, community title or commercial leasing
• Deceased estate transmissions and family law transfers
