Job summary

WSP seeks an experienced Licensed Asbestos Assessor to join our Occupational Health and Hygiene team. You will conduct air monitoring, clearance inspections, and manage asbestos documentation on site.

This role requires state-licenced status, CPCCDE5001 or related qualification, and the ability to work remotely at client sites for stretches. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3–5 Class A asbestos removal projects in the last 5 years.
• Current state-issued Asbestos Assessor Licence.
• CPCCDE5001 or an equivalent tertiary qualification in Science, Building Construction, OH&S, or Environmental Health.
• Experience working remotely for extended periods in challenging conditions.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Air Monitoring: real-time air monitoring before, during, and after Class A removal.
• Clearance Inspections: thorough visual inspections of removal areas and routes.
• Clearance Certification: issue written Clearance Certificates when area is free of asbestos and fibers.
• Asbestos Identification & Auditing: site surveys and ACM identification; update management plans.
• Regulatory Liaison: act as technical expert for clients, contractors, regulators; ensure ARCPs meet legal requirements.
• Laboratory Coordination: manage sample collection and submission to accredited labs.
• Work from client sites for up to two weeks at a time.
