Job summary

Hawkesbury City Council is hiring a casual Library Officer in Windsor, NSW. The role supports responsive library services and programs, working with colleagues in the Arts and Culture Branch to achieve community outcomes.

You will provide Readers Advisory and assist visitors with information research, using digital platforms and MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in library services.
• Proven ability to deliver quality customer service.
• Confident with using digital/online technology and information search.
• Strong information retrieval skills.
• Excellent public manners and communication with diverse people.
• Team oriented with adaptability to change.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• WHS compliance and safety awareness.
• WWCC, NSW Driver's licence and police checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality library services and programs.
• Collaborate with Arts and Culture Branch to meet community goals.

The Role

Reporting to the Customer ServiceLibrarian, the purpose of this role is to participate in the delivery ofresponsive, high quality, friendly and efficient library services and programsand working collaborativelywith colleagues in the Arts and Culture Branch to achieve goals.

About You

You will be able to provide ahigh-quality Readers Advisory Service to promote both fiction and nonfictionreading for the dual purposes of satisfying reader needs and advancing literacyskills.

• Diploma of Library and Information Services orequivalent and relevant qualification and experience working in a library
• Demonstrated ability to deliver quality customerservice by determining customer needs and achieving quality outcomes
• Confident and experienced with using digital, onlinetechnology
• Information research and retrieval skills
• Excellent public manner and ability to communicatewell with a wide range of people
• Ability to work as part of a team environment,contribute to service improvements and adapt to change
• Ability to carry out duties and responsibilities ofthe position with the minimum of supervision on a day-to-day basis
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and abilityto become skilled with unfamiliar software and technology in general
• Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Class C Drivers Licence
• WHS General Construction Work in NSW
• Successful applicants will be required toundergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
