Job summary

Hawkesbury City Council is seeking a Casual Library Officer in Sydney to deliver friendly, high-quality library services and programs. Reporting to the Customer Service Librarian, you will assist readers with selections and promote reading across fiction and nonfiction.

The role requires a Diploma in Library and Information Services or equivalent, strong customer service, and comfort with digital tools. WWCC, NSW Driver's Licence, and background checks are required; on-site parking and a Fitness

Qualifications

• Diploma of Library and Information Services or equivalent.
• Proven ability to deliver quality customer service by determining customer needs.
• Confident with using digital, online technology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working with Children Check (WWCC).
• Class C Drivers Licence.
• WHS General Construction Work in NSW.
• Background checks and medical declaration required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in delivery of responsive, high quality library services and programs.
• Provide Readers Advisory Service to promote fiction and nonfiction reading.
• Collaborate with Arts and Culture Branch to achieve goals.
• Support service improvements and adapt to change in a team environment.
