Job description

About the role:

Myli - My Community Library is seeking an experienced and community‑focused Library Manager to lead the daily operations of Emerald Library. This role plays a key part in delivering high‑quality customer experiences, supporting a positive team culture, and ensuring the library remains a welcoming, safe and vibrant space for the community.

You’ll oversee staff, manage service delivery, coordinate programs, maintain compliance with WHS and Child Safe Standards, and contribute to organisation‑wide initiatives. The role suits someone who thrives in a dynamic public environment and enjoys leading people, solving problems and supporting community outcomes.

Daily responsibilities include supervising staff and volunteers, coordinating rosters and workloads, maintaining a safe and clean environment, delivering programs and outreach activities, building relationships with local organisations and schools, managing petty cash and debit card reconciliation, and providing regular operational updates to the Area Manager.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring experience in libraries, community services or customer‑focused environments, along with proven capability in supervising staff or coordinating teams. Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills are essential, as is confidence in applying policies, guidelines and safety requirements. You’ll be comfortable using digital tools, library systems and office software, and committed to child safety, inclusion and positive community engagement.

The role involves working across multiple locations when required, undertaking reasonable physical tasks, and operating confidently in a busy public environment.

Pre‑employment checks including current Working with Children check , and a police report will be required prior to appointment.
