Job summary

Administrative Review Tribunal is seeking an APS6 Librarian in a hybrid role based in Melbourne or Sydney. The position is full-time (part-time considered) with a non-ongoing term to 30 June 2027, potentially ongoing.

The Librarian will manage legal library collections, deliver high-quality research and reference services, and train users in database resources. The role includes working across Tribunal staff and maintaining digital resources.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing legal library collections and library management systems.
  • Ability to provide high-quality legal research, reference, and current awareness services.
  • Experience developing and delivering library training and user education programs.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Tertiary qualifications recognized for professional (Associate) membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.

Job description

Use your experience in reference and research services to connect people with the information they need in a unique and specialised library environment.

We are seeking an APS6 Librarian for a non-ongoing role until 30 June 2027, with the possibility of ongoing employment.

Based in Melbourne or Sydney, this hybrid position is available full-time, with part-time arrangements of at least three days per week also considered.

Remuneration: The annual salary range for the position is APS6 - $99,734 - $111,701 p.a., plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.

About the opportunity

Library Services is a national team that provides Tribunal members and staff with the information and resources they need to do their work. The Librarian manages the collection for their nominated Registry and supports users through research and reference services, updates on new and relevant information, database training, and access to digital resources.

About you:

To be successful you will have:

  • Experience managing legal library collections and library management systems
  • Ability to provide high-quality legal research, reference, and current awareness services.
  • Strong judgement and research skills to deliver accurate and timely information.
  • Experience developing and delivering library training and user education programs.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in library and/or information management that are recognised for professional (Associate) membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
  • Australian Federal Police Check
