Job summary

The Administrative Review Tribunal is hiring an APS5 Library Technician in the Sydney Registry, a full-time ongoing role until 30 June 2027 with a potential extension. The position is primarily onsite with some flexibility to work from home, offering $88,834–$96,829 per annum plus 15.4% employer superannuation.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree recognised for Associate or Library Technician membership ofALIA.
  • Experience maintaining physical and digital collections.
  • Ability to contribute to operational projects and service improvements.
  • Proficiency with library management systems and digital platforms such as SharePoint and Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of high-quality library and information services.
  • Maintain physical and digital collections and assist with projects.
  • Update the library management system and improve record quality.
  • Assist with relocating and rehousing materials and ensure digital resources are accessible.
  • Move and reshelve library resources as required.

About theopportunity

The Library Technician supports thedelivery of high-quality library and information services acrossthe Tribunal’s national library. Working under general direction,the role undertakes defined operational activities and libraryprojects,maintainsphysical and digital collections,contributes to library systems and process improvements, and helpsmembers and staff access informationeffectively.

Aboutyou

The Tribunal’sLibrary Servicesis undertaking a major transition of its physical and digitalcollections. The successful applicant will help reorganise theSydney collection,assistwith relocating and rehousingmaterials from Brisbane, update the library management system,improve record quality, and ensure digital resources areappropriately stored and remainaccessible.

Thisrole has physicalrequirements, including moving and reshelving libraryresources.

To be successful youwillhave:

  • Experiencemaintainingphysical anddigital collections, using library management systems, andundertaking collection maintenanceactivities.
  • The abilitytocontribute to operational projects and serviceimprovements, includingidentifyingpracticalsystem and processenhancements
  • Ademonstrated capability using digital systems andtechnology platforms, including library managementsystems,SharePointand Microsoft 365applications
  • Theabilitytoexercise sound judgement, assessrisks, balance competing priorities, and applylibraryexpertiseto determineappropriatesolutionsandoutcomes.
