Job summary

Yusen Logistics in Northampton seeks an LGV Class 2 Driver to ensure safe, on-time deliveries of electrical consumables from our Panattoni site NN7 4DE to retail outlets across the South Midlands and Southern England.

You will follow a pre-planned schedule, load and unload safely using correct straps, perform vehicle checks, manage delivery paperwork, and communicate with depots and customers. Training is provided for installation at customer premises.

Qualifications

• Must hold an LGV Class 2 licence and DCPC qualification.
• At least 12 months of LGV Class 2 driving experience.
• Experience delivering electrical items is preferred.
• Strong communication and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to shifts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products safely and efficiently to customers.
• Load and strap products correctly for secure transport.
• Carry out vehicle inspections and adhere to safety standards.
• Manage delivery documentation accurately.
• Communicate with clients and depots as required.
• Install products in commercial premises (training provided).

Role Overview

We are looking to recruit an LGV Class 2 Driver. You will ensure the safe and efficient delivery of electrical consumable products from our Northampton, Panattoni site (NN7 4DE) to retail outlets across the South Midlands and Southern England.

Working to a pre-planned schedule, you will ensure that products are delivered on time to customer premises and that all safety procedures are followed.

You’ll use your manual handling skills to offload goods safely, some of which can be heavy, and provide a professional service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver products to Customers safely and efficiently
• Ensure the products are loaded correctly and correct use of straps to ensure they are secure
• Perform vehicle inspections and ensure adherence to safety standards
• Manage all documentation for each delivery accurately
• Communicate effectively with clients and depots as needed
• Install products in commercial premises (full training given)

What You Will Bring To The Role

• A full, valid driving LGV Class 2 licence
• At least 12 months' commercial LGV Class 2 driving experience
• Experience of delivering electrical items
• A maximum of six points on your licence (excluding BA, CD, DD, DR or DG codes)
• A valid DCPC qualification
• A valid Digital Tachograph card
• Excellent communication skills
• To be customer-focused with a ‘can do’ attitude
• To be able to work within a team environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• A flexible approach to your work and the ability to start at different times if necessary
