Job summary

Showtime Consulting is seeking a Level 3 SME (ASUP 5 / TECH 5) to join a high-performing team supporting critical applications and ICT services within a secure government environment. The role is based in Canberra and supports mission-critical systems operating in highly secure Defence environments.

A versatile technical professional will troubleshoot across a broad stack and ensure reliable enterprise platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience in application support or sustainment within enterprise or government environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across complex technology environments.
• Experience with Windows Server, RHEL, SharePoint, Java/.NET/C#, SQL, and related enterprise tools is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 support across applications and platforms.
• Perform systems administration, application support, and operational tasks.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues spanning applications, infrastructure, integrations, and services.
• Support incident, problem, change, risk, and security management processes.
• Engage with technical and business stakeholders to deliver reliable service outcomes.
• Identify opportunities for automation, service improvement, and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to cloud optimisation and workload migration initiatives where appropriate.

The Role We are seeking an experienced Level 3 SME (ASUP 5 / TECH 5) to join a high-performing team supporting critical applications and ICT services within a secure government environment. The role is based in Canberra and supports mission-critical systems operating within highly secure Defence environments. This position is ideal for a versatile technical professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues, working across a broad technology stack, and contributing to the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of enterprise platforms and services. As a trusted technical specialist, you will play a key role in supporting both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and bespoke applications while partnering with stakeholders to deliver excellent operational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 support and sustainment across a diverse portfolio of applications and platforms.
• Perform systems administration, application support, troubleshooting, and operational support activities.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues spanning applications, infrastructure, integrations, and supporting services.
• Support incident, problem, change, risk, and security management processes.
• Engage with technical and business stakeholders to deliver reliable service outcomes.
• Identify opportunities for automation, service improvement, innovation, and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to cloud optimisation and workload migration initiatives where appropriate.

What You'll Need

• Demonstrated experience in application support, systems administration, or application sustainment within enterprise or government environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across complex technology environments.
• Experience across several of the following technologies:

Desirable Skills

• Experience supporting Defence, National Security, or other secure government environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise and mission-critical applications.
• Exposure to cloud transformation, automation, and modernisation initiatives.
• Current NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance.

Security Requirements

• Current NV1 Security Clearance as a minimum.
• NV2 Security Clearance highly regarded.
