Job summary

RAC is seeking a Lending Lead within the Personal Finance team. This hands-on role focuses on leading lending operations, policy governance, and member outcomes. You will balance credit assessment, process improvements and people leadership to ensure compliant, efficient lending practices.

You will act as subject matter expert, handle escalations, and lead improvements across lending processes, while coaching a team to elevate capability and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience assessing personal loan applications in banking/finance.
• Ability to write, maintain or improve lending policies and procedures.
• Strong leadership, coaching and escalations handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for document verification and lending scenarios.
• Own and continuously improve lending policies and procedures, ensuring they are current and compliant.
• Assist in assessing and approving personal loan applications and preparing loan documents.
• Ensure adherence to NCCP, AML/CTF and KYC obligations.
• Support governance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as 2IC to the Personal Finance Manager and lead the team when required.
• Coach and uplift team capability through 1:1s and quality reviews.
