Job summary

The Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) invites applications for a Leisure and Lifestyle Allied Health Assistant based in Tocumwal. This temporary full-time role (38 hours per week) runs until 09 August 2027 with potential for extension.

You will help implement meaningful leisure and lifestyle activities for residents, working with a multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver individual and group programs that promote wellbeing and quality of life in our local health services.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong problem solving skills and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a range of group and individual leisure and lifestyle programs.
• Correspondence and document management - including the organisation of various deadlines and communications within a multidisciplinary team.
• Perform and assist with activities under the supervision and direction of treating Allied Health Professionals such as exercise classes and community outings.
• Facilitate and participate in diversional therapy activities.
• Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for patients and the multidisciplinary team.
• Create individual lifestyle care plans and programs for residents.
