Job summary

Victoria Police is seeking a Legal Support Officer within the Courts and Prosecutions Division (CPSD) in Melbourne. You will provide essential administrative support to Prosecutors in the Magistrates' and Children's Courts, with opportunities to work across metropolitan locations as needed.

You will manage briefs, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to a high-performing prosecution team in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in coordinating and managing briefs and court documentation.
• Strong communication with prosecutors and court staff.
• Ability to organise tasks and meet strict timelines.
• Ability to work autonomously within a small team.

Responsibilities

• Receive, record, manage, and maintain records for briefs of evidence in hard copy and electronic form.
• Prepare briefs for court by cross referencing the court list against filed and electronic briefs.
• Communicate with key stakeholders to ensure efficient team functioning.
• Answer enquiries and provide timely advice to managers and stakeholders.
• Monitor and action group email accounts.
• Sort/book incoming and outgoing mail.
• Undertake other duties as required by line managers.
