EML in Sydney is seeking a Legal Specialist to join our in-house team focusing on workers' compensation matters. This role offers exposure to complex claims and statutory litigation in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

Formación

• Experience in workers compensation, particularly statutory claims and/or Work Injury Damages (WID).
• Law degree in progress, or experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a workers compensation legal practice or claims environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Good computer literacy, including confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
• A current NSW practising certificate is not required but will be highly regarded.

Responsabilidades

• Provide legal guidance to claims teams on workers compensation legislation, policies and guidelines.
• Support the preparation and management of Work Injury Damages (WID) claims and statutory litigation, including matters before the Personal Injury Commission.
• Liaise with external legal providers, support litigation strategies and attend legal proceedings as an EML representative where appropriate.
• Contribute to portfolio reviews, employer presentations and legal projects across the Specialised Insurance Group.
• Monitor relevant case law and legislative changes to support legally accurate decision-making.
