Job summary

EML in Sydney seeks a Technical & Injury Management Specialist to support workers’ compensation claims teams with complex guidance and proactive injury management. This role focuses on delivering expert technical support, coaching colleagues, and ensuring compliant, effective case handling across diverse schemes.

The position is a 12-month max-term contract/secondment, full-time, with flexible work-from-home options up to two days per week within a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Strong technical experience within the NSW workers compensation scheme.
• Experience in injury management within a fast-paced workers compensation environment.
• Strong claims management experience, particularly with long-term and litigated claims.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to claims teams on complex claims and legislative requirements.
• Develop and implement proactive injury management strategies.
• Provide specialist coaching and one-on-one support to claims team members.
• Support teams with complex work capacity, treatment and long-term claim decisions.
• Review claims management practices and identify emerging trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Work with Team Leaders to develop strategies that support team performance and outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

We’re now welcoming applications for Technical & Injury Management Specialist to join our supportive, purpose-driven team in Sydney on a 12-month max-term contract/secondment, full-time basis, with flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week.

You’ll join our Specialised Insurance Group, supporting the delivery of workers compensation claims management across a diverse range of industries and schemes, including Hospitality Industry Insurance (HII), Trinity and Guild. In this specialist role, you’ll use your technical workers compensation and injury management expertise to support claims teams, navigate complex scenarios and help deliver positive outcomes for workers and employers.

• Sound knowledge of work capacity and treatment approvals
• Experience coaching, mentoring or providing technical support to others
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and provide practical, considered advice
