Job summary

Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer is seeking a Manager for the LOA team on a 12-month contract. It is a full-time role based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, leading client engagements end-to-end and advising senior in-house leaders to shape the future of legal service delivery.

The ideal candidate has five+ years in legal operations and transformation, with expertise in operating model transformation, legal tech, and AI. Strong communication with senior stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Five+ years' experience in legal operations and transformation.
• Experience managing consultative projects end-to-end across full lifecycle.
• Deep knowledge of operating model transformation, legal tech, and change management.
• Strong data handling, storytelling with PowerPoint/Excel/Power BI/Visio.
• Solid understanding of the legal AI landscape.
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead client engagements end-to-end and advise senior in-house leaders.
• Drive project scoping, planning and delivery of high‑quality deliverables.
• Facilitate workshops and translate complex concepts into clear insights.
• Develop client-facing solutions and monitor trends, focusing on AI.
• Build relationships and align LOA services with client needs.
• Support business development and contribute to proposals and pipeline growth.
• Provide guidance to junior team members during engagement delivery.
• Promote LOA internally and externally to boost visibility.
• Contribute to LOA strategic initiatives under the Head of LOA.
