Thomson Reuters in Sydney is seeking a Legal Data Editor to enter legislation into the LawTracker database for your jurisdiction and monitor parliamentary progress to keep datasets current and accurate.

You will adhere to quality standards, perform daily checks, and ensure legislation is reflected across datasets, helping law firms, government bodies, universities, and corporations access reliable legal information.

Qualifications

• Has a law degree or is a recent law graduate.
• Sharp eye for detail and accuracy.
• Good computer skills and ability to learn new programs.
• Demonstrated interest in all aspects of the law and the legislative process.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of the Australian legal system and parliamentary procedures.
• Ability to manage and prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter legislation for your jurisdiction into the LawTracker database.
• Monitor Bill progress through relevant Parliaments.
• Adhere to quality and copyright standards.
• Maintain downloads to reflect the most recent compilations of legislation in the dataset.
• Double check other jurisdictions to ensure accuracy.
• Complete daily checks of the email alerts to ensure that legislation has been processed correctly.
• Sorting and entering cases into the CaseTracker systems.
