Job summary

Montgomery Advisory is seeking a Legal Counsel level lawyer to join its growing construction team, advising clients across a broad range of sectors and businesses. The role is commercially focused, with emphasis on front-end construction work, contracting and commercial advice.

Flexible and remote work options are available; lawyers can be based in Sydney or other Australian cities, reflecting a national footprint across Australia.

Qualifications

• 5 years' post-admission experience (private practice, in-house, or both).
• Front-end construction experience with drafting and negotiating contracts.
• Strong commercial judgement and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, solutions-focused construction advice aligned with clients' commercial objectives.
• Advise across a broad range of sectors and businesses, with emphasis on contracting and commercial issues.
• Collaborate with clients to understand strategic aims and deliver front-end legal support.

This is a commercially focussed legal role. You willunderstand the clients commercial objectives and provide practical, solutions-focused construction advice.The role will have a strong front-end construction focus, with an emphasis on contracting and commercial advice.

Our client is open to flexible and remote work, lawyers can be based in Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Newcastle and Perth.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• 5 years' post-admission experience, gained in private practice, in-house or a combination of both;
• Front-end construction experience, with a particular passion for drafting and negotiating contracts;
• Strong commercial judgement;
• An entrepreneurial and innovative mindset;
• Australian admission, a current or eligible practising certificate and full Australian working rights.
