Job summary

Duggan + Della is partnering with a global construction company to appoint a projects/construction lawyer. You will move from private practice to in-house, supporting Australia’s largest infrastructure projects with front-end legal and commercial input.

You will work closely with senior project and commercial stakeholders, drafting and negotiating major contracts, advising on tenders and procurement, and guiding risk allocation to enable successful delivery.

Qualifications

• 4 years+ experience in projects/construction law.
• Strong front-end construction and infrastructure experience.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and contract management skills.
• Confident with senior commercial and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate major construction/infrastructure contracts.
• Advise on tenders, bids, procurement and project strategy.
• Negotiate head contracts, consultant agreements and subcontracts.
• Advise on risk allocation, liability, indemnities, insurance and warranties.
• Collaborate with project directors, commercial managers and procurement teams.
• Provide commercially-focused, practical advice to support project delivery.
• Identify contractual risks and develop pragmatic solutions.
• Build relationships with project and commercial teams as a trusted legal adviser.

We are partnering with a global construction companyas they expand their legal team.

This is an opportunity for a projects / construction lawyer to move beyond private practice and work alongside the commercial and project teams delivering some of Australia’s largest and most complex infrastructure and construction projects.

The Opportunity

Working closely with senior project, commercial and executive stakeholders, you will provide front-end legal and commercial advice across major projects, from tender and procurement through to contract negotiation, and delivery.

Your role will include:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating major construction and infrastructure contracts.
• Advising on tenders, bids, procurement and project strategy.
• Negotiating head contracts, consultant agreements, subcontracts and associated project documentation.
• Advising on risk allocation, liability, indemnities, insurance, warranties and security.
• Working closely with project directors, commercial managers, procurement teams and senior leadership.
• Providing commercially focused, practical advice that supports successful project delivery.
• Identifying contractual risks and working with the business to develop pragmatic solutions.
• Building trusted relationships with project and commercial teams and becoming a key legal adviser to the business.

Who We’re Looking For

• 4 years +experience.

• The confidence and interpersonal skills to work directly with senior commercial and project stakeholders.
