Job summary

Aequalis Consulting Pty is seeking a Legal Counsel to support Australia’s largest infrastructure projects from Sydney. You will provide legal advice, draft and negotiate complex contracts, and manage risk across multi-million-dollar developments.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years’ experience, are qualified solicitors in Australia, and can influence senior stakeholders while navigating dynamic regulatory requirements. This role is based on site in Sydney.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a legal counsel or related role.
• Expertise in contract law and navigating complex legal frameworks.
• Strong negotiation skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Qualified to practice as a solicitor in Australia with current practising certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice across all stages of major infrastructure projects.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of complex contracts and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance.
• Lead on contract management, advising on disputes, variations and risk.
