Job summary

Horizon Housing Realty (HHR) is a not-for-profit real estate agency delivering specialist property management services to investors. Build-to-Rent developments across Melbourne are expanding our footprint, and you will manage the full leasing lifecycle for brand new properties, guiding residents from viewing to approvals.

This six-month fixed-term role requires a Victorian Certificate of Registration, strong leasing experience, and the ability to work Saturdays when needed.

Qualifications

• Current Victorian Certificate of Registration is required.
• Experience in residential leasing is essential.
• Knowledge of Victorian tenancy legislation is highly desirable.
• Flexible with working hours including Saturdays when required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full leasing lifecycle for Build-to-Rent properties.

• Occasional travel between Melbourne sites; roster may include Saturdays with a weekday off.

HHR manages a significant and growing property portfolio, with several large‑scale Build‑to‑Rent developments launching soon to further expand our footprint. We’re now looking for energetic, enthusiastic professionals to join our growing team!

As part of our commitment to improving the communities in which we operate, funds raised by HHR in its management of rental properties and rental assistance programs are reinvested in building and managing more properties, expanding our capacity to assist those in housing stress.

The Role

Please note: this is a 6 month fixed term role with the possibility of extension - it can be based in South Yarra, Prahran, Port Melbourne, Hampton or Flemington

You’ll be responsible for managing the full leasing lifecycle for brand new Build‑to‑Rent properties. Build‑to‑Rent offers a renter‑only service model, allowing a focus on exclusively building strong, positive relationships with residents.

With five new locations across Melbourne launching in 2026, you’ll be allocated to a dedicated site (meaning no day travel) while occasionally supporting other leasing consultants at different sites as needed.

As the initial face of Horizon Housing Realty, you’ll guide prospective residents from property advertising and enquiries through viewings, applications, and approvals. Working closely with the onsite Property Manager, you’ll play a key role in leasing up the development, thoughtfully curating a cohort of residents to foster a strong, sustainable community while meeting leasing targets.

This role requires availability to work Saturdays when required, with a weekday provided as a day off. We offer flexible working hours and will work with you to determine a schedule that supports a range of viewing times to cater for all potential residents.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following qualities and experience:

• Enthusiastic, friendly, and approachable. You’ll be the first point of contact for HHR and play a key role in presenting our properties in their best light, creating an exciting and welcoming experience for prospective residents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills—you’ll confidently guide applicants through the full leasing journey, from enquiry and viewing through to application and approval.
• A proactive mindset with a genuine drive to meet and exceed leasing targets, contributing to team success while being supported by a broader, collaborative team.
• A current Victorian Certificate of Registration, with prior experience in residential leasing and a solid understanding of Victorian residential tenancy legislation.
• A strong work ethic, resilience, and a willingness to learn. You’ll be comfortable following established leasing processes and procedures while adapting in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexibility with working hours. We’ll work with you to set a schedule that supports property viewings while maintaining a healthy work‑life balance.
• Professional presentation and the ability to prepare clear, well‑written correspondence for both internal and external stakeholders.

Please note that a satisfactory police check is required for all staff and those with client related responsibilities are required to provide a Working with Children Check (WWCC).
