Job description

Our Learning Enrichment Department works across K–12 to ensure students with diverse learning needs can access, participate in and succeed in learning. We take a collaborative, strengths-based, evidence-informed approach — embracing neurodiversity and supporting teachers through coaching, collaboration, targeted intervention and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

We're looking for a qualified, NESA-accredited Learning and Support Teacher to join our team and make a genuine, lasting difference in how students with diverse learning needs experience school.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Learning Enrichment, you'll work collaboratively with classroom and subject teachers, School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs), families and allied health professionals to deliver evidence-based support that helps students fully access and participate in learning — while building teacher capability across the College through coaching and collaborative practice.

What you'll do:
  • Identify students requiring additional learning support through assessment and data analysis
  • Develop, implement, monitor and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Personalised Learning and Support Plans (PLSPs)
  • Deliver evidence-based intervention for students with disability, neurodivergent profiles and other diverse learning needs
  • Support transitions across K–12 and promote student independence and self-advocacy
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement differentiation, reasonable adjustments and UDL
  • Build teacher capability through coaching, mentoring and professional learning
  • Assist in coordinating SLSOs and contribute to NCCD processes
  • Liaise with families and allied health professionals
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with College policies and legislative requirements
What you'll bring:
  • A recognised teaching qualification and current NESA accreditation
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in a primary and/or secondary school setting
  • Demonstrated experience in learning and support, special education, inclusive education or a similar specialist teaching role
  • Experience supporting students with disability, neurodivergent profiles and diverse learning needs
  • Experience developing, implementing and reviewing IEPs and PLSPs
  • Knowledge and understanding of neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based practice
  • Knowledge of the Disability Standards for Education and the application of reasonable adjustments
  • Understanding of NCCD requirements and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, SLSOs, families and allied health professionals
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive education, student wellbeing, belonging and achievement
Highly desirable:
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Learning and Support or a related field
  • Experience working in an independent or faith-based school environment

If you're passionate about inclusive education and want to help shape a learning environment where every student — however they learn — can thrive, we'd love to hear from you.
