Job summary

Frontline Education WA is seeking a Specialist Learning Support Teacher for their Northam WA campus, to join on a full-time, permanent basis commencing Term 1, 2027. The role focuses on supporting students with complex learning, behavioural, social and emotional needs within a small school community.

You will collaborate with teachers, families, and allied health professionals to ensure students access and participate in learning, with modern facilities and technology-enabled spaces to support

Qualifications

  • Hold current TRBWA registration.
  • Hold relevant teaching and tertiary qualifications.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum and WA curriculum requirements.
  • Experience supporting students with neurodiverse and complex learning needs, including Down Syndrome.
  • Strong skills in individualised education planning, differentiation and NCCD adjustment documentation.
  • Confident working collaboratively with teachers, families, allied health professionals and support staff.
  • Understanding of trauma informed practice and Positive Behaviour Support.
  • Comfortable using video conferencing and online learning resources.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Hold a current Working With Children Check.
  • Have full, unrestricted Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist teaching and direct support to students with diverse and complex learning needs.
  • Develop, implement and review Individual Education Plans and personalised learning programs.
  • Plan appropriate differentiation, interventions and curriculum adjustments aligned with NCCD requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to support successful student integration and participation.
  • Partner with families, allied health professionals and support staff to provide a consistent approach to student learning and wellbeing.
  • Implement effective behaviour and engagement strategies as part of trauma informed practice and Positive Behaviour Support.
  • Utilise AAC, visual supports for expressive and receptive communication.
  • Support development and delivery of Life Skills programs where appropriate.
  • Mentor and support colleagues to strengthen inclusive teaching practices.
  • Provide respectful personal care support in accordance with student care plans.

Are you an experienced Learning Support Teacher looking for an opportunity where you can make a meaningful difference to students with diverse and complex learning needs?

Our client is seeking a Specialist Learning Support Teacher to join their welcoming Northam campus on a full time, permanent basis from Term 1, 2027.

Working within a small school community, this is a hands-on specialist teaching position supporting students with complex learning, behavioural, social and emotional needs. You will work directly with students while collaborating closely with teachers, families, support staff and allied health professionals to ensure students can successfully access and participate in learning.

The campus offers modern facilities, technology enabled learning spaces and the resources of a larger education organisation, while retaining the relationships and community of a small school environment.

The Role

To be successful, you will:
