Job summary

Joseph Banks Secondary College invites applications for a pool of Inclusive Learning Teachers to cover permanent and fixed-term, full-time and part-time vacancies arising during 2026 and into 2027. Appointments may occur at any time for positions commencing in this period.

The role focuses on supporting students on the autism spectrum and other learning needs, delivering differentiated instruction within the WA curriculum, and helping students access pathways to achievement and post-school

Qualifications

We are seeking to establish a pool of Inclusive Learning Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The School

Joseph Banks Secondary College (SC) is an Independent Public School in the suburb of Banksia Grove, approximately 40 kilometres from the Perth CBD. We serve students from surrounding suburbs including Carramar and Tapping. The Role

Working primarily with students on the autism spectrum and students with a range of additional learning needs, the suitable applicants will ideally play a pivotal role in supporting students to achieve meaningful success throughout their secondary schooling and beyond. Suitable applicants will ideally possess a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies for students with autism and additional learning needs and display the flexibility to adapt their practice as students develop. They will ideally be skilled in supporting students to achieve their personal best through authentic learning opportunities, and the use of innovative approaches that promote engagement and independence.

Skills and experience

• Knowledge and application of Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communicationhandicapped Children (TEACCH) methodologies.
• Experience implementing Classroom Management Strategies (CMS) and Positive BehaviourSupport (PBS) approaches.
• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and with external agencies to support student outcomes.
