Job summary

Chairo Christian School seeks Learning Support Assistants for our Pakenham campus, commencing in Term 1 next year. You will support students with specific learning needs in classrooms and during private study, helping teachers deliver high-quality Christ-centred education.

Ideal candidates will have commitment to the school's faith statement, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Some qualifications or experience in learning support are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Providing a godly example to students and staff through practice and lifestyle.
• Liaising with subject teachers about students and curriculum requirements.
• Assisting students with special needs in the classroom and in private study, as well as exam or testing situations.
• Maintaining appropriate records with regards to learning support activities and programs.
• Attending camps and excursions with students if required.
• Preparing resources to support student learning.
• Providing general support to teachers in the classroom.
• Providing feedback to the classroom teacher with regards to a student’s academic and social progress.

Chairo Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school with 1,900 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland, the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.

We are currently seeking the services of Learning Support Assistants to work at our Pakenham campus, commencing in Term 1 next year.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a caring Christian environment and provide important assistance to the students and teaching staff in delivering high-quality care and Christian education to students requiring support for their specific learning needs.

Some key responsibilities will include the following:
