Job summary

St Philip’s Christian College Newcastle seeks a Learning Support Assistant to support teaching and learning, helping students reach their potential in collaboration with the Classroom and Learning Support Teacher.

You will work with staff to deliver literacy and numeracy programs, assist with assessments, groups, and supervision, and contribute to a caring, Christian learning community compliant with Child Safe Standards.

Qualifications

• Committed Christian actively involved in local evangelical church
• Able to support development of social/emotional skills within education
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Has a current Working with Children Check

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teaching staff to support student learning and engagement
• Assist students with additional needs in classroom settings
• Deliver literacy and numeracy programs for small groups under supervision
• Maintain attendance, lesson notes, and resources records
• Provide feedback on student progress to teachers
• Complete and submit assessment data regularly
• Support in Individual Student Programs and standardized tests
• Assist in supervising activities and playground duties
