Job summary

Elevation Secondary College in Melbourne is seeking a Learning Specialist in Behaviour and Trauma Informed Practice for the 2027 school year. The role focuses on modelling exemplary teaching, mentoring teachers, and leading trauma-informed professional learning to support student wellbeing and achievement.

The Learning Specialist will work with senior leadership to implement evidence-based practices, build capacity in staff, and advance a cohesive behaviour curriculum aligned to the Victorian

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of the Victorian curriculum and literacy/numeracy across the curriculum.
• Ability to model high impact teaching strategies and evaluate their impact on student learning growth.
• Demonstrated ability to use data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, colleagues and the community.
• Commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed education aligned with Department values.

Responsibilities

• Instructional coaching with focus on classroom management and trauma-informed practice.
• Leading professional learning to identify priorities and evaluate practice.
• Designing and sequencing Personal Development units for Years 7–12.
• Collaborating with leaders to improve student engagement, wellbeing and achievement.
• Overseeing resources and budget for PD initiatives and school-wide programs.
