Job description

Hutchison Ports Australia is seeking a proactive and highly organised Learning and Development Coordinator to support the capability and compliance requirements of our frontline workforce.

Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, this role can be based in either Brisbane or Sydney and will support employees across our Operations and Maintenance teams.

A key focus of the position is developing and maintaining Hutchison Ports Australia's suite of learning resources, including eLearning modules, classroom presentations, assessments, verification of competency materials, learner guides, onboarding programs, learning pathways and SOP-based training resources.

You will work closely with operational leaders, subject matter experts and trainers to ensure learning content reflects current operational practices and business requirements. You will also coordinate learning programs, maintain training and competency records, monitor compliance requirements and take ownership of assessing and developing training delivery plans to support training targets.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Developing, maintaining and continuously improving learning content, eLearning modules, assessments, VOCs, learner guides, onboarding programs, learning pathways and SOP-based training resources.
• Collaborating with operational leaders, subject matter experts and trainers to ensure learning resources remain practical, accurate and current.
• Administering learning programs and training pathways across Operations and Maintenance functions.
• Incorporating feedback, operational changes and business requirements into learning content and training programs.
• Coordinating operational, maintenance and corporate training activities through to completion.
• Monitoring mandatory, regulatory and role-specific training requirements, including VOCs, High Risk Work Licences, forklift licences, First Aid, HSR training, equipment operator training and RTO-delivered programs.
• Maintaining accurate training records for Operations and Maintenance employees.
• Working with operational leaders, trainers and subject matter experts to support training schedules, delivery and completion requirements.
• Supporting EA Workforce Trainers as required, noting that field-based training delivery is not the primary focus of the role.
• Monitoring training attendance, completion rates, learner progress and certification currency.
• Preparing training compliance, competency, certification and workforce capability reports.
• Identifying overdue training requirements, emerging compliance risks and workforce capability gaps.
• Escalating barriers to training completion and recommending appropriate corrective actions.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

• Experience in training administration, LMS support or learning coordination.
• The ability to maintain accurate training records and compliance data.
• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities in an operational environment.
• The ability to work effectively with frontline employees and corporate stakeholders.

It Would Also Be Advantageous To Have

• A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a willingness to obtain one.
• Experience using learning management systems or other learning technologies.
• Experience within ports, logistics, transport, manufacturing or a similar operational environment.
• Basic reporting or Power BI experience.
• Exposure to onboarding, competency tracking or compliance-based training processes.
