Job summary

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, part of the BMW Group, invites ambitious placement year students to join the Interior Trim Centre at Goodwood for a 12.5‑month placement starting July 2027. You will work across Series, Structure and Project Planning, applying lean principles to produce interior trim products while learning from mentors.

You will gain hands-on experience in engineering, production planning and cross‑functional collaboration within a world‑class automotive environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Industrial Engineering.
• On track to achieve a 2:2 or above in the relevant degree program.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Fluent in English; German knowledge is beneficial.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of learning new software.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing feasibility and realisation of design and engineering requirements within the concept development process.
• Working in project teams on set deliverables.
• Manage the introduction of new materials and processes.
• Support the integration of new models into series manufacturing structures.
• Establishing a Lean Manufacturing Environment, applying VPS/CIP principles to reduce wastes.
• Identification, procurement and installation of specialised tooling and key equipment.
• Scenario planning for future production system considering planning premises.
