Job summary

Barminco is seeking a Service Crew – Leading Hand to lead underground service works across Western Australia. You will supervise crew members, coordinate ventilation, dewatering, air and water services, and ensure safe, timely delivery to site targets.

The role requires prior Leading Hand experience in mining, strong knowledge of underground safety systems, and excellent communication with multiple stakeholders. FIFO/DIDO options and significant training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Service Crew role in mining, preferably as Leading Hand.
• Understanding of underground safety systems, permits and risk management actions.
• Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the service crew team during day-to-day operations.
• Coordinate services including ventilation, dewatering, air, water and general mine services.
• Ensure all work complies with safety procedures, permits and mine standards.
• Allocate tasks, monitor work quality, and provide on-the-job guidance and mentoring.
• Conduct pre-starts, toolbox talks, and hazard identification in work areas.
• Liaise with supervisors, maintenance and production teams to meet priorities.
• Monitor equipment condition and report defects, incidents or delays.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with site policies and procedures.

About our Role

Join the Barminco team as a Service Crew – Leading Hand and support our underground mining operations across Australia, with opportunities available at sites throughout Western Australia. In this role, you will lead and coordinate underground service works to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of essential services acting as a key link between crews and supervisors.

What will your day to day look like?

• Lead and supervise the service crew team during day-to-day operations.
• Coordinate services including ventilation, dewatering, air, water and general mine services.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures, permits, and mine standards.
• Allocate tasks, monitor work quality, and provide on-the-job guidance and mentoring.
• Conduct pre-starts, toolbox talks, and hazard identification in work areas.
• Liaise with supervisors, maintenance, and production teams to meet operational priorities.
• Monitor equipment condition and report defects, incidents, or delays.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with site policies and procedure.

Our ideal candidate background includes

• Previousexperience working on a Service Crew in a mining environment preferably as a Leading Hand.
• Understanding of underground safety systems, permits and risk management activities
• Good communications skills with the ability to liaise with a wide group of stakeholders
• Relevant qualifications, certificates, and/or licences (RPL's).
