Job summary

Barminco is hiring an Auto Electrician to maintain and repair electrical systems on underground mobile mining equipment across Western Australia. You’ll diagnose faults, service safety systems, and perform preventative maintenance to maximise machine availability in challenging underground conditions.

Rosters include 7/7, 14/14, or 8/6/7/7 with FIFO/DIDO options and strong career progression across Barminco and the Perenti Group.

Qualifications

• Experience as Auto Electrician in mining or related industry preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills on underground mobile equipment.
• Ability to meet site access requirements and work remote to sites across WA.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems on underground mobile equipment.
• Fault-find wiring, starting, charging systems, batteries and control circuits.
• In install and maintain safety systems and telematics; conduct inspections and preventative maintenance.

Join the Barminco team as an Auto Electricianand support our underground mining operations across Western Australia

With opportunities at sites throughout Western Australia you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems on our extensive fleet of heavy mobile mining equipment.

Ensuring a safe, reliable operation and high machine availability in challenging underground conditions is paramount to your role.

Rosters: 7/7 or 14/14 or 8/6/7/7

What will your day to day look like?

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic systems on underground mobile equipment.
• Fault-find and repair wiring, starting and charging systems, batteries, and control circuits.
• Install and maintain safety systems, lighting, communications, and machine telematics.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance to maximise equipment availability.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform repairs in confined and challenging underground environments.
• Complete maintenance documentation and follow all site safety and compliance requirements.

Our ideal candidate background includes

• Previous experience working as an Auto Electrician (any industry welcome)
• Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician (or equivalent).
• Ability to meet all site access requirements (including, but not limited to, Medical, DAS, NPC & valid Manual Driver's Licence).
