Job summary

Thiess is seeking an experienced Maintenance Leading Hand for Olive Downs Complex in the Bowen Basin, QLD. You will lead a mobile maintenance team, perform servicing and repairs, and ensure adherence to Thiess maintenance documentation.

Camp is located at Coppabella with bus transport to site; a 7/7 roster and permanent full-time employment. Strong safety culture and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven mining experience with exposure to leading or supervising mobile maintenance HD Fitters.
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead a skilled mobile maintenance team following Supervisors’ and Superintendents’ directives
• Fulfil the Maintenance Supervisors’ duties in their absence
• Perform the servicing, repair and maintenance of equipment as directed in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication, and maintenance systems documentation
• Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, and computer-based systems
• Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel
• Source and requisition parts and/or equipment requirements through the appropriate manuals or publications using the correct ordering procedure
• Verify the implementation of solutions and/or control further non-conforming machinery until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected

The Opportunity

We are seeking experiencedMaintenanceLeading Hand to take on a range of maintenance activities and supervision at Pembroke Resource’s new project in the Bowen Basin - the Olive Downs Complex.

Pembroke Resources’ Olive Downs Complex is an exciting autonomous mine project located south-east of Moranbah, with mining operations that started mid-2023. Thiess proudly delivers full-service mining operations, including mine planning, overburden removal, drill and blast, autonomous load and haul, water management, rehabilitation, and the construction of mine infrastructure.

Camp is located at Civeo Coppabella, with bus transport provided daily from camp to site. A bus service is also available for locals, making it easy to join our team and be part of this world-class operation.

As the Maintenance Leading Hand, you will:

• Current Standard 11

• Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams
• You will also need to always possess high regard and practice health and safety
