Job summary

Ausco Modular is seeking a hands-on Leading Hand in Mackay to oversee the refurbishment and maintenance of modular buildings for hire. You will lead a small team, allocate daily tasks, conduct pre-starts, and ensure safety, quality and timely delivery of work.

You will coordinate repairs and upgrades on hire modules, operate forklifts, and manage records and stock movements while providing coaching and development to your team. Strong safety focus and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s licence is required.
• Forklift (HR) licence is required.
• Working at heights ticket required.
• Experience leading or supervising others.
• Ability to use hand tools for maintenance and repairs.
• Good computer proficiency with MS Office (Teams/Outlook).
• Knowledge of modular construction or building preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, maintenance and upgrades on the hire fleet.
• Operate forklift to load/unload modules and equipment.
• Inspect, test, clean and prepare modular assets for re-hire.
• Help coordinate deliveries, pickups and yard movements.
• Keep records up to date and assist with stocktakes.
• Handle customer handovers and queries.
• Lead and coordinate a small team to deliver quality work on time.
• Conduct pre-starts, toolbox talks and team meetings.
• Coach, mentor and develop team members to build capability.
• Monitor safety, quality and productivity and address issues.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
• Champion a strong safety culture and identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead by example and foster a positive team environment.

Leading Hand - perform maintenance & repairs of modular buildings for hire, lead and coordinate a small team

Leading Hand - Padget, Mackay

• Permanent, Full-Time
• Monday - Friday, 6am-2.30pm Roster
• $56.10 p/h (inclusive of allowances) + Super + 5% Short Term Incentive Plan

We're looking for a hands-on Leading Hand to join our team in Mackay.

You’ll be responsible for preparing and refurbishing Ausco's Modular Buildings for hire, ensuring they are presented to a high standard and meet customer expectations.

You’ll bring a strong work ethic, commitment to safe work practices and a positive approach to working as part of a team.

What you’ll be doing:

• Perform repairs, maintenance & upgrades on the hire fleet

What you’ll need:

• Drivers Licence
• Forklift (High Risk) Licence
• Working at Heights Ticket
• Ability to use hand tools to complete maintenance and repairs
• Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring others
• Good computer proficiency - Microsoft suite including Teams and Outlook
• Knowledge of construction, building or modular preferred
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with limited on-site leadership support
