Job summary

EMECO at Olympic Dam, SA is seeking a highly experienced Leading Hand Heavy Diesel Technician to lead a maintenance crew and keep a critical fleet running safely and reliably. You will supervise preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs across CAT loaders, graders, and road trains, while mentoring juniors and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

The role offers a 2:2 FIFO roster, competitive pay, and a supportive team environment with flights, accommodation and meals provided.

Qualifications

• Previous Leading Hand or senior technician experience
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience working on heavy earthmoving equipment
• Mining experience highly regarded
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• A safety-first mindset and pride in quality workmanship
• Ability to coordinate and prioritise maintenance activities
• Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, Drug & Alcohol Screen and Police Check
• Full Australian Working Rights

Leading Hand Heavy Diesel Technician | Olympic Dam, SA

We're on the hunt for an experienced Leading Hand Heavy Diesel Technician to join our crew at Olympic Dam.

You’ll play a key role in leading the team, keeping the fleet running safely and reliably and making sure maintenance is completed to a high standard.

What You'll Be Working On

You’ll be leading a team working across a seriously impressive fleet, including:

• CAT 992K/G Loaders
• CAT 14M & 16M Graders
• Scania R620 Road Trains & Belly Dump Trailers

From preventative maintenance and diagnostics through to major repairs, you’ll help keep equipment available, reliable and production ready.

You’ll also be responsible for supporting the team on the tools, coordinating daily maintenance activities, providing technical guidance, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
