Job summary

Volley Recruit is seeking experienced Underground Heavy Diesel Mechanics for an ongoing FIFO opportunity in Broken Hill, NSW. The role involves servicing, maintaining and repairing a fleet of underground mining and heavy mobile equipment in a hardrock environment.

You will perform scheduled servicing, fault finding across mechanical/hydraulic systems, and underground repairs, working with a team and following strict WHS procedures.

Qualifications

• Recognised Australian Heavy Diesel / Mobile Plant / Mechanical Trade Qualification.
• Relevant High Risk licences and tickets (HR Licence).
• Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work underground and rotating day/night shifts.
• Strong safety record and commitment to safe work practices.
• Ability to pass a medical and drug & alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

• Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical fault finding.
• Underground breakdown repairs.
• Component change-outs including engines, transmissions, pumps and cylinders.
• Equipment inspections and defect identification.
• Reading hydraulic/electrical schematics and OEM manuals.
• Testing and returning equipment safely to production.
• Working closely with operators, auto electricians and the maintenance team.
• Following strict isolation, risk assessment and WHS procedures.

Volley Recruit is currently seeking experienced Underground Heavy Diesel Mechanics for an ongoing opportunity in Broken Hill, NSW.

THE ROLE

Working iin a Hardrock mining environment , You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a fleet of underground mining and heavy mobile equipment, helping maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.

• Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
• Mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical fault finding
• Underground breakdown repairs
• Component change-outs including engines, transmissions, pumps and cylinders
• Equipment inspections and defect identification
• Reading hydraulic/electrical schematics and OEM manuals
• Testing and returning equipment safely to production
• Working closely with operators, auto electricians and the maintenance team

ABOUT YOU

Experience with:

• CAT underground equipment, Sandvik, Epiroc / Atlas Copco
• Underground hard-rock mining
• Underground loaders, trucks and boggers
• OEM machine-specific training
• Auto-electrical diagnostics
