Job summary

Programmed GO is seeking a hands-on Leading Hand for our grain operations site in Birchip, Victoria. You will lead day-to-day grain receival, storage and outturn activities, and supervise staff and contractors to ensure safe, efficient operations.

You’ll train the team in safe work practices, help maintain grain quality and inventory controls, and support rostering, planning and equipment maintenance. Availability for nights and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising people and delivering practical on-the-job training.
• Hands-on approach with sound safety judgement and adaptability.
• Current driver’s licence, Confined Space certificate and Level 2 First Aid certificate.

We’re seeking a hands-on Site Leading Hand to help run safe, efficient operations at a grain storage site in Birchip. You’ll work alongside the team each day, guide staff and contractors, and step up to support site supervision during busy periods.

What you’ll do

Train and supervise staff and contractors in safe work practices and equipment operation.

Help maintain grain quality, inventory controls and site safety standards.

Support rostering, operational planning and equipment maintenance.

Take responsibility for site operations when the Site Supervisor is away.

What you’ll bring

Experience supervising people and delivering practical, on-the-job training.

A hands-on approach, sound safety judgement and the ability to adapt as site priorities change.

A current driver’s licence, Confined Space certificate and Level 2 First Aid certificate.

Availability to work outdoors and flexible hours, including nights or weekends when required, and to assist at other sites.

Experience in grain handling, bulk materials or operating equipment such as front end loaders and conveyors would be an advantage.
