Job summary

Obadare Group is seeking skilled boilermakers to lead a team in fabricating steel, repairing and upgrading equipment and structures in our Toowoomba workshop. You will oversee boilermakers and apprentices, read drawings, and ensure work aligns with welding procedures and project schedules.

We offer a competitive hourly rate, potential overtime, and sign-on bonuses. A 9-day fortnight option is available, with relocation assistance for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Boilermaker trade qualification or equivalent required.
• Experience leading boilermaker teams on fabrication projects.
• Ability to read and interpret welding procedures and drawings.
• Willingness to work in Toowoomba workshop and remote locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of boilermakers and apprentices in fabrication and upgrades.
• Fabricate steel and metal components per specifications and drawings.
• Ensure work complies with fabrication ITPs and API Q1 procedures.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment; assist hands-on when required.

Competitive Market-Leading rates of pay - $50 to $52 per hour permanent full-time for leading hands that can fabricate and build equipment on a one off basis

Weekly pay cycle

Sign on bonus $500.00 upon commencing and $1,000.00 upon successfully completing the 6 month probation period

You get to build … Drilling Rig Equipment, Flowback Trailers, Pipe Handling Equipment, High Pressure Piping, and various steel projects. One offs to multiple builds.

Should you be looking for overtime - although we can never guarantee overtime, the business has seen an average of 45-50 hours per week of workload throughout the last 12 months

What are we looking for? Boilermakers with high level structural welding skills and ability to lead a team

We are seeking skilled boilermakers to lead a team of boilermakers and apprentices to fabricate steel, and other metal materials to manufacture, repair and upgrade equipment, products and structures, such as, but not limited to, pipe spooling, pressure vessels, structural steel and rig and transport equipment.

Key Tasks:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding procedures and project schedules.
• To lead the team carrying out fabrication, maintenance and upgrades as per supplied specifications.
• To be hands on when required, to assist in achieving the end result.
• All works to be completed with adherence to the company's Fabrication ITP and API Q1 accredited policies and procedures
• May be required to carry out shiftwork or by negotiation workin remote locations however this role is primarily workshop based in Toowoomba
• Ensure that the work area is kept clean, tidy and equipment is maintained to company requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Ability to qualify to welding procedures
• Valid Drivers Licence
• Highly Regarded (not essential):
