Water Infrastructure Services (WIS) is seeking a Leading Hand in Construction & Maintenance to lead and support a team across water infrastructure projects. The role is based in Burpengary, QLD, with a mobile role across South-East Queensland and a company vehicle provided.

This hands-on position requires supervising and performing construction tasks, maintaining assets, and coordinating with site managers to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor worker productivity, provide on-the-job training, guidance and support to team members.
• Identify and resolve issues or challenges that arise during the construction process.

Leading Hand - Construction & Maintenance

We are seeking a skilled Leading Hand with experience in Construction & Maintenance to join our dynamic and growing team at Water Infrastructure Services (WIS) in Burpengary, QLD on an ongoing Full-Time basis.

This is a hands-on operational role suited to someone who is looking for a stable position working Monday to Friday. You will play an important role in leading and supporting your team in servicing, maintaining and constructing infrastructure on Water Reservoirs where each week you will be in a new environment, with new challenges and opportunities.

The role also includes a vehicle fully equipped with all necessary tooling for performing maintenance work and delivering capital renewal projects. You will be mobile across sites in South-East Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise a small team of construction workers to ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard and on schedule;
• Perform hands-on construction work, including roofing, installation, and maintenance of water assets;
• Coordinate with the project managers or site foreman to ensure the team has the necessary materials, equipment, and resources;
• Monitor worker productivity, provide on-the-job training, guidance and support to team members
• Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the construction process;

What We’re Looking For

• Current Driver’s Licence
• Construction White Card
• Must have Confined Space and Working at Heights Qualifications or the ability to obtain.

Required Qualities

• Experience or relevant experience as a leading hand or supervisor in the construction industry, or maintenance of assets, preferably within the water sector;
• Strong technical knowledge of construction techniques and materials, along with the ability to understand how to maintain these assets;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate a team;
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment;
• Familiarity with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and a commitment to ensuring compliance;
• A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team;
