Lead User Researcher — Hardware & Connected Experiences

ResMed Inc. invites a senior user researcher to shape the future of our hardware products from a user-centered perspective.

In a six-month fixed-term contract, you will lead research across masks, devices, accessories and connected experiences, translating insights into actionable product decisions. You will collaborate with engineering, design and product management, travel internationally when required, and maintain a strong presence at our Sydney/Bella Vista offices for hybrid work.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience researching physical products, preferably medical devices.
• Strong qualitative and mixed-method research background, with in-person studies.
• Experience leading research projects from planning through delivery in product development.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills.
• Experience collaborating across UX, design, customer, or human-centered research domains.
• Availability to attend the Bella Vista office at least two days per week.
• Ability to travel internationally when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end research strategy across hardware and connected-experience programs.
• Design, conduct, and guide a range of research activities from early discovery through concept evaluation.
• Translate insights into evidence-based recommendations that inform product, design, and business decisions.
• Build empathy for users across ResMed by communicating insights through compelling storytelling and collaboration.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to embed user understanding into product development.
• Contribute to initiatives that expand the impact of research across ResMed’s portfolio.
