Job summary

Beca Pty. Ltd. in Australia is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to provide technical leadership across major transmission projects, spanning 66kV to 500kV, and help grow the firm’s transmission capability and reputation in the market.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, deliver practical, high‑quality design solutions, and champion safety, reliability and engineering excellence across project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering; Chartered status or ability to obtain it.
• Extensive experience delivering transmission line projects (66kV–500kV).
• Strong capability in transmission line design (PLS-CADD/TOWER).
• Proven ability to lead technical delivery and build client relationships.
• Collaborative mindset with coaching/mentorship orientation.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery across transmission line projects through lifecycle.
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to balance technical, operational and commercial needs.
• Provide technical leadership in design, applying PLS-CADD and TOWER; promote engineering excellence.

Lead Transmission Line Engineer

The Opportunity

As a Lead Transmission Line Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across major transmission projects while helping grow Beca's transmission capability and reputation in the market. You'll work alongside industry-leading professionals to deliver innovative and practical solutions for our clients, while supporting the development of emerging engineers across our Power team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the technical delivery of transmission line projects across the project lifecycle, developing innovative solutions for networks ranging from 66kV to 500kV.
• Partnering with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, high-quality engineering outcomes that balance technical, operational and commercial requirements.
• Providing technical leadership in transmission line design, including the application of PLS-CADD and TOWER, while championing engineering excellence and best practice.
• Mentoring engineers, supporting project pursuits and contributing to the continued growth of Beca's transmission business.

About You

• Degree qualifications in Engineering and Chartered status (or the ability to obtain it).
• Extensive experience delivering transmission line projects within the power sector, ideally across networks ranging from 66kV to 500kV.
• Strong technical capability in transmission line design, including experience with PLS-CADD and/or TOWER.
• Proven ability to lead technical delivery, build trusted client relationships and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• A collaborative approach and a passion for developing others through coaching and mentorship.
