Job summary

CPB Contractors Pty is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer for a Mackay-based project. You will coordinate traffic management across multiple fronts, ensuring plans, permits and approvals are in place and implemented safely and efficiently.

You will liaise with construction teams, road authorities and stakeholders, driving planning and program alignment while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience managing traffic control on civil construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland traffic management requirements and approval processes.
• Experience coordinating traffic management subcontractors and field operations.
• Ability to collaborate with project engineers, supervisors, authorities and stakeholders.
• Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities across multiple fronts.
• Commitment to safety, quality and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate traffic management for multiple construction work fronts.
• Review and manage TMPs, Traffic Guidance Schemes and permits.
• Liaise with subcontractors to ensure safe and compliant implementation.
• Coordinate approvals with local councils, road authorities and stakeholders.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with approved arrangements.
• Support project programming by identifying traffic-related constraints and opportunities.
• Manage stakeholder communications relating to traffic impacts and road closures.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and reviews of traffic control arrangements.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain project records, reports and compliance documentation.
• Contribute to project planning, risk, safety and environmental objectives.
