Job summary

Kapsch is seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to join our team and deliver two major tunnel ITS projects in Australia. You will be responsible for systems engineering activities across the project lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system integration, testing, risk management and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years in system engineering and/or project management in a project delivery organization.
• Experience in delivering Intelligent Transportation Systems or Advanced Traffic Management Systems.
• Knowledge of tunnel SCADA, tunnel control, CCTV, incident detection and traffic data reporting.
• Advanced English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of two tunnel projects in Australia as Lead Systems Engineer.
• Provide technical leadership to a geographically dispersed team.
• Coordinate project execution with internal teams, subcontractors, partners and customers.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for the customer, ensuring requirements and contractual obligations are met.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and stakeholders on planning, risk management, and governance.
• Lead systems engineering activities: requirements, solution definition, integration, verification, risk management.
• Support customer engagement activities: workshops, presentations, and change-management discussions.
• Provide commercial support for proposals, estimates, and Change Requests.
