Job summary

Motion Group is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Installation Supervisor to lead on-site delivery across Hunter, Central Coast, and Greater Sydney regions. This hands-on leadership role will oversee steel erection, installation, and coordination of crews, cranes, and materials to meet drawings, specs, and project schedules.

You will supervise labor, subcontractors, and equipment, ensure safety and quality compliance, and collaborate with project managers, clients, and engineers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising structural steel erection or installation projects.
• Hands-on experience in structural steel assembly, rigging, lifting, erection, alignment, bolting, and installation.
• Experience leading employees, subcontractors, crane crews, and site personnel.
• Strong knowledge of erection methods, sequencing, temporary stability, rigging, lifting, and working at heights.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, specs, and erection documents.
• Capable of site set-out, mark-out, measurements, and installation checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise day-to-day delivery of structural steel erection and installation works.
• Provide hands-on support to installation crews while maintaining overall control of site activities.
• Plan and coordinate labour, subcontractors, cranes, elevated work platforms, plant, equipment, and materials.
• Review drawings, shop drawings, specifications, erection sequences, lift plans, and project docs before work.
• Ensure installation complies with drawings, engineering requirements, tolerances and quality standards.
• Coordinate rigging, crane operations, lifting, access, exclusion zones, and erection sequencing.
• Conduct site inductions, daily pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.
• Maintain SWMS, site safety plans, permits, and company procedures.
