Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer in Perth to provide technical leadership and strategic oversight within our WA mining and industrial projects. You will set technical direction for the Perth structural discipline, develop high‑performing teams, and advise key clients on scope, risk and execution strategy.

The role requires a Chartered Engineer (CPEng) with 15+ years in a consulting environment, and a deep understanding of mining operations, construction methods, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
• CPEng with Engineers Australia.
• 15+ years in a consulting environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical authority for structural engineering across WA mining and industrial projects.
• Lead and review complex steel and reinforced concrete designs in high‑risk environments.
• Ensure all structural deliverables comply with Australian Standards and client requirements.
• Perform or oversee independent technical checks and approvals of critical structural deliverables.
• Lead the Perth Structural Discipline and mentor engineers and designers.
• Build and maintain strong senior‑level client relationships and act as advisor on technical risk.
