Job summary

QBE Insurance Group invites an experienced Lead Solution Architect to shape end-to-end technology architectures for strategic initiatives. You will translate business needs into scalable designs, guide critical design decisions and strengthen architecture practices across domains.

Reporting to the Principal Enterprise Architect, you will collaborate with business and technology stakeholders, delivering secure, reusable solutions while balancing cost, risk and operational requirements.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing end-to-end solutions across application, integration, data, infrastructure, security and cloud domains.
• Strong knowledge of modern technologies including Azure, microservices, containers, SPAs and REST APIs, plus legacy platforms.
• Proven delivery experience in large-scale transformation programs using Agile, Waterfall and hybrid approaches.
• Ability to apply architecture principles, standards and governance pragmatically while managing risk, cost, complexity and operational requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across business teams, technology partners and vendors.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

• Promote consistent architecture methods, governance processes and continuous improvement practices.
• Share knowledge, mentor peers and strengthen the Solution Architecture community.
• Build trusted stakeholder relationships and influence strategic technology decisions.

The opportunity

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Lead Solution Architect to join QBE. Initially supporting the ERT program, you will design and deliver end-to-end technology architectures for strategic initiatives across the organisation. Reporting to the Principal Enterprise Architect, you will partner with business and technology stakeholders to create secure, scalable, reusable and cost-effective solutions that align with QBE's enterprise architecture principles, technology strategy and operational objectives.

Your new role

About You

You are an experienced technology architect with a strong track record of designing and delivering complex enterprise solutions across multiple business domains and transformation initiatives. You combine deep technical expertise with pragmatic judgement, clear communication and the ability to influence stakeholders across business, technology and vendor environments.

You will also have:
